Advanced Powerboat Course.

ISA Advanced Powerboat.
This course is for leisure and professional boaters wanting to undertake more adventurous trips by day and night. The course mainly used by Inshore Rescue Crew, Charter-boat Skippers, Workboat Skippers, Fish Farm Crew etc. and when combined with STCW Mandatory Safety Training quailfys the holder to Department of Transport Passenger boat licence.
It includes navigation at planing speed, weather and other aspects of skippering powerboats on more challenging passages in coastal waters.
Anybody undertaking this course must have the practical skills of the Intermediate course and knowledge of navigation to at least the standard of the Day Skipper shorebased course.
|Assumed knowledge||Candidates should be competent to the standard of the Intermediate Powerboat Certificate with a thorough knowledge of the navigation and chartwork to the level of Coastal Skipper/RYA Yachtmaster Shorebased certificate. It is strongly recommended that candidates hold a first aid certificate and a VHF operators certificate.|
