On successful completion of the Irish Sailing Yachtmaster Offshore Practical & Exam. the candidate can apply for a Department of Transport Category C Commercial Endorsement, Certificate of Competence. This allows you to operate as Master of a commercial vessel up to 24m and 80 GT with 12 passengers and 2 crew up 150 nautical miles from a safe haven.
The Seamanship Centre operate our fully licenced and equipped commercial P5 workboat ‘SkipJack’ for this course.
SkipJack is a twin engine catamaran with push bow, full Furuno navigation suite with the most up to date Timezero software as is common in the workboat, crew transfer, marine construction and offshore support industries.
