Confined Space Awareness is a 1 day course from the Seamanship Centre and is approved by the MCA.

The aims of this course is to give the participants awareness through theoretical and practical training to encourage Confined Space Awareness and perform activities in a safe manner.

Please note this is a Confined Space Awareness course and does not qualify participants to enter a confined space.

The Confined Space Awareness Course shall ensure that:

• The delegates are able to demonstrate an understanding of what a confined space is.
• The delegates understand the relevant legislation and Code of Practice for Working in Confined Spaces.
• The delegates understand the risks and hazards associated with a confined space.
• The delegates are able to demonstrate understanding of the “Permit To Work System” for Confined Spaces.
• The deligates can set up proper Ventilation of Confined Spaces.
• The delegates are able to demonstrate an understanding of rescue techniques from an enclosed space.
• The delegates are able to demonstrate Emergency First Aid for casualties of confined space rescues.
